Search under terms like "straight axle swap" or "SAS". You will mind much info.
Cost? Depends, kits start close to $1000 and won't include axle, bigger tires, etc.
Time? A weekend if your a good fabricator and great with a torch and grinder. Probably alllow a week or more if this will be your first major project.
If you are not a qualified welder, my strongest suggestion is to find someone who is and have them attach all the critical parts.

It can't be done and no one has ever thought of it. 
Mister Willie you need to take advantage of the "search" feature at the top of the page here and use
It has been done and documented 4.2 bazillion times last time I checked.

The search works really well.........If your really interested, you should search this out and gather as much information, then ask questions to fill the gaps.....
