Slide oil pan out when doing clutch?

Hello, I am going to be doing the clutch in my 94 4x4 22re pickup within the next week or so. I also need to do the timing chain in the near future. When I have the trans out would it be possible to unbolt the oil pan and slide it out from the back? To clean it out. Or will it hit the oil pickup? Instead of dropping the front diff some to get it out when doing the timing chain? Thanks

If you unbolt the pick up tube .

I hope you have tiny hands very tight fit

It will not clear other wise you can`t get the oil pan low enough to clear .

It must be 10 years since that little adventure .

You did not do a SAS did you then you might have enough room

Ended up pulling the head Did the timing chain and head gasket

Kind of figured it would be a tight squeeze.

But you can drop the front diff and then remove the oil pan. Not fun and yes it takes a while and it's not easy to maneuver the end of the CVs off the studs in the axle stubs but it can be done.

When I replace my timing chain, I removed the oil pan as well and you have to drop the front diff then lower the oil pan a bit to remove it. The oil pickup stick "down" a bit so you can't unbolt the oil pan and slide it. Good luck!
