How do you carry rifles, i have sr5 4runner seats and can only get one rifle behind the seats and the cab is to narrow for a gun rack. Is getting a camper the best option for holding more then one gun. i have a passenger so i cant put them in the floor board.

I've always admired the bedside gun cases on the Arctic Hilux's

But seriously I'd just find a way to safely secure some hard plastic rifle cases in the bed.

room for "under the seat gun safes?"

wich i will add, my grandfather used to custom make those back in the 60's for family and freinds, but never patend them....whoda thunk they'd take off like they did

usually i only carry one with me, wich sits behind the bench...im only one person i have no need to carry multiple rifles LOL

if i'm carring mine PLUS a freinds, i always sit it between the door and the bench seat on the floor, on the passengers side, BARREL UP AGAINST THE FLOORBOARD so that way if it fires it wont ricochet, and yes it is unloaded, but gun saftey is just what i do.

and i would never drive on the road with a gun there, i just do it driving through he ground.

if i have a freind riding with me, i'll have my gun behind the bench, and he will hold his in his lap, barrel pointing down at the floor

i probably just need to go out find a camper for camping and hunting and to keep everything secure, the land lease is a 6hr drive i really don't want my passenger to openly carrying a rifle in his lap. i have a concealed carry license but i don't feel like being pulled over by cop and give us a hard time.

When my dad took me hunting, on the drive there, we just put the rifle's barrel towards the floorboard and the butt end of the gun in the middle. Since there is a "U" shape in the middle of the bench seat it holds nicely. Only thing that fits in the back window is a 22.

a half-gallon iced tea jug fits in that "u" perfect. thats why i opted for inbetween the seat and door. plus its wedged in there good so it wont go anywhere

my .22 wont even fit in the back window, I lost that U shape in the bench seat about a year ago with a bucket seat swap. I need to go find a window less camper and put some roll on bed liner on it. As soon the weather cools down the whole truck is getting bed lined, i want to start working on it but its been 110ish the last 4 weeks and its been over 100 since the first of july.

One long gun behind the seat, one long gun riding "shotgun"(no pun intended). Passenger or not. During hunting season, which is all year in OR.

Why? You got a problem with that?!

+1 - I just put a sweatshirt around the scope. Usually I fly solo during deer season.

Gun racks are nice in theory, but even on my Extracab I've never found one I liked. The cabela's ones that mount to the ceiling are nice, but our trucks probably lack the headroom.
