Are you saying you have installed two new High pressure lines and they both broke??

If you are trying to reflare old lines they get hard and brittle over time most will crack .

Just where is the failure happening?

If they were new lines take them back and complain

first one was the original, second one was from a buddy, but was able to cut and reflare the old one incase this happened again on the trail. the flare itself is craked or between the 17mm nut and pump orifice, could it be from overtightning?

What I have seen is the metal just gets old and brittle from the thermal cycling It gets hot from the engine and the fluid running through then it cools down .

Depending on how cold it gets where you are that can be a big temperature cycle repeat over the life of the hose.

It will be a fine line between being to tight and leaking .

It is the flare that seals . It is possible to over tighten and distort the flare then over tighten trying to seal the leak and end up cracking line where a flaw has been created over time but unseen by the naked eye.

Last I bought any new High pressure Hoses I didn`t think they were that expensive.

I hope that helped a little

You can buy new fittings and hose and have your own line made. Local place builds mine.
I think TG has some upgraded lines too.
