post-wreck front end rebuild with lots of pictures

Was heading to work 2 hours ago, heading east with the sun in my eyes.

Reached over for my pepsi, looked back up and all of a sudden there was a tacoma in my way. BAM.

I hit a fire fighter... And there was a sheriff behind me that saw the whole thing. I wasn't speeding or anything, so he told me not to worry about any charges.

Driver side front fender is crushed, radiator is bent, KN intake is crushed, bumper is crushed, driver front wheel is all out of camber...

Hood is all bent to hell, coolant overflow is destroyed.

Passenger side stuff looks OK...

Its going to be totalled, I'm sure. And I won't have the money to buy it back, build it up as a trail rig and buy another DD.

So I guess I'm gonna be looking for a new rig here pretty quickly...

In the mean time, I guess I'll just have to drive my mom's 2004 4-door taco. With a 3" Donahoe UCA kit, camburgs, and a few other doodads. How will I ever survive?

------

I miss my truck.

I'm trying to find the cord for the camera.

I need to start pulling parts out of it... I had 4-runner buckets that I'm sure someone would want.

Transmission and gear boxes are all worth some dough. I'm pretty sure I have 4.56 gears.

I need to pull all that stuff cause I'm sure someone needs it. And as long as it rolls, screw the insurance company. I'm taking everything i possibly can.

Anyone want an SR5 cluster?

Ah, man, that's a bummer! If you can't salvage it, maybe salvage some of the parts and start over?

Try to take less money and keep the Toyota. Then you'll have some money to fix it up. Negotiate.

As long as the frame is straight in the front, the front clips for those are plentiful and easy to obtain.

I'm just wondering if it would be cheaper to sell the tranny, transfer case, thirds, etc...

I know of a truck thats been sitting around. 91 v6 with a lift...

no cat, needs a battery. he said $1200 for it?

Maybe parting it out would cover most of that?

Keep it you can fix that lil scratch...Not as bad as I thought. Hang on to it and you'll have it running in no time. Just need a BFH and some colored tape and you are all good.
