no 2 speed sensor

no 2 speed sensor
I have a 93 4runner that has a code for the speed sensor. If it is an external speed sensor, can i pull out the old one and put in the new one and attached the wire harness back up. Or is there any kind of alignement internally I have to pay attention to. Thank you for your help
