New spark plugs and...

I had a check engine light on my pickup ran rough had to take a little bit to get up to normal speed. After I changed all 6 I feel more "power" my check engine light is off and it was giving me a code 17 which there is no code 17. Is this normal. Where changing spark plugs can effect drivability that much?

If the plugs were very worn, the improvement can be quite dramatic. What was the gap on the old plugs compared to spec?
Post up pics of the old plugs.
