Hey all, I've been tuned out for a while now but recently been working on some parts for my 4Runner that I wanted to share with the community. I wanted a full length rack for my 4Runner and couldn't find any on the market. So I set off to create exactly what I wanted. Very similar to many of the common "overland" style racks commercially for nearly every other model except a) nobody makes one for 1st gen 4Runners and B I wanted this one to break down into sections so that the top can be removed and it could also be used in different configurations. Let me know what you think! (full disclosure: I am selling these on our website, but I really only make 1st gen parts as a passion project and to support this platform. Hopefully I'm not vialating any rules here.)

 

Looks well made. Nice. Might suggest you drill some bungee cords hook holes near the top edge of the side rails for tie downs like for a cargo net.

 

great idea! One nice thing about the extrusion crossbars also is that you can add tie down points exactly where they are needed. I've also been loving these loop end style bungees from Perfect Bungee on the rack:
