New clutch not releasing

New clutch not releasing
1990 pickup 4x4 5 speed. Just finishing up a new clutch install. Just got the transmission back in and slave cylinder bolted in. When I have somebody press the clutch pedal to the floor I’m able to rotate the output shaft of the transmission by hand but I can feel the clutch dragging compared to in neutral which rotates easily. I haven’t got it back together enough to try driving it yet.
The new parts looked identical to the old parts except the release bearing was slightly different. I forgot to measure the important dimensions to verify it was identical but by eyeballing it it looked correct. One thing which concerned me about my install was mating the bell housing to the engine. When I was taking it out the little stud was sort of stuck so I had to lightly pry it away then it slid away freely. Same problem putting it back in. Transmission slid right in until the stud was partway in (roughly last 3/16”) I pulled it the rest of the way by threading in the bolt closest to the stud which drew it the rest of the way easily without binding.
I took a look at the clutch pedal adjustment and it’s almost as far as it goes. I’ll try adjusting it all the way and bleeding in the morning but I’m at a loss for what to do if those don’t work and looking for some potential solutions. Unfortunately I don’t have a point of reference before the clutch replacement because the entire title I’ve owned it the clutch has slipped really bad.
thanks!
