Need some help with knowing which parts and interchangeable
I have a 87 Toyota pickup and I am trying to touch up the look with some aftermarket parts. I keep seeing the years stop at 83-86 and 89-95. Can 89 parts fit on a 87 or the 86?? I’m 18 and barely getting into building the truck I have now. I’ve seen many videos of other people adding like dome lights from a 94 4Runner and other cool stuff so it’ll be helpful to know how it works.

1984-1988 Hiluxes are pretty similar for most things. Every now and then there are parts changes from 1986-1987, but those aren't terribly common.
1989 Toyota rolled out the next generation Hilux. Many of the engine parts will still work, but others, like the EFI system, are completely different. The 1989 4Runner was handled differently. They kept the same design for half way through the 1989 model year before releasing the second gen 4Runner in 03/89, but calling it a 1990 model ( it was a bit confusing then, and didn't get any better with time).
I highly recommend getting your model number off the metal plate on the firewall, along with your production date off the plate in the driver's door jam and getting familiar with looking up parts on EPC-data.com. Do research first, then you can post up here with more in-depth questions.
Don't trust what sellers say, especially on eBay, they make sweeping claims all the time that are wrong. Especially on used parts. In those cases definitely do your homework regarding part numbers and what years they fit before bidding/buying.
