my dad says its the intake gasket because the idle is crappy when u first start it and its burning coolant i put a new t stat in it any help would be great o and where should i buy these gaskets at carquest it is 180 for a topend gasket kit

well when u first start it it idles like it is very choppy but low idle and are theese good gaskets some said toyota gaskets are the best and the ones atparts stores are junk

 

I'm guessing that it idles fine with a warm start?

If so, an intake gasket will not fix a problem with the auxilary air valve.

And then you can figure out where the coolant is going.
