Looky what I found on Ebay near Phoenix

It’s amazing what you can find on Ebay with a bit of luck. There I was, looking for a cheap commuter car for work and came across a nice 1986 rust-free Arizona 4Runner with approx 225K on the chassis. 16K miles ago the seller got a big bonus at work and decided to redo the entire drivetrain and turn it into a decent trail rig:

[IMG][/IMG]

LCE street performer motor (yeah I know, some folks got issues with ICE), new head, new injectors, double roller timing chain, SS valves, adjustable timing gear, high-vol oil pump, heavy duty water pump, steel chain guides, larger turbo radiator, hi-output alternator, MSD coil and wires, header & exhaust, yellow-top Optima, Marlin crawler HD tranny, 14 gal aux tank, Heavy duty skid plates (Confer?), NWOR dual shock hoops, 26mm bars, Bilstiens front and rear, NWOR rear springs and shackles, 5.29 Gears w/ Aussie lockers, rebalanced drive shaft with new U-joints, all sitting on new 33x10.5 BFG MTs. He also had the interior seats reupholstered and a custom pull-out rear drawer installed.

Unfortunately for the seller, just half a year after getting his big bonus, he was advised that his IT job was getting out-sourced to India. And btw, he had just purchased a new FJ Cruiser.

And today she sits in my driveway. I feel kind of bad for the guy, but at least now he’s got some $$$ to make those monthly payments on the FJ.

Nice Score! An '86 4Runner was the first of 5 Toyota trucks I have owned over the last 21 years... Enjoy it...
