knock sensor location

I just had the codes pulled on a 90 4runner and it is saying an open or faulty knock sensor,i beleive thats what the guy said, basically the knock sensor is bad,I have been reading that it is located under the upper intake, and that the wire harness to it is under the throttle body, i have yet the find the wire harness to it yet.I know i have to take the intake off to get to the sensor,so could the wires going to the sensor be located under the intake? I hate the thought of pulling the intake off, but i guess if i have to then i have to.Does anyone have any info on the amount of time it will take and what to watch out for when doing the job?

I dont think the job is too bad actually. If you can somehow lift the plenum up just a little bit so you can fit your hand under there and replace it it should go pretty quick. The hardest part I think will be is if you have to mess with any vacuum lines

Ah feel ur pain

IMHO the knock sensor is a B (bear) to get to. The intake plenum will come off, and the wire (94 v6) is very short and tuff to disconnect. I think I managed to break part of the plastic stay tab. Hooray for me. The harness is right adjacent to the fuel rail, and this one's wire went under. Assuming that is factory altho have evidence someone has been there b4.
