knock sensor issue

i just swapped out a seized 85+ 22RE for an pre 84' 22r block, i put my EFI stuff on the block, except there is no place for the knock sensor in the block.

what should i do? will this mess with anything leaving it unplugged?

I dont think the knock sensor will keep it from running. you have a code using your comp but i dont think it will keep it from not running. Im not 100% sure on this so dont hold me to it

the knock sensor just advances or retards timing when it senses knocking. i have heard of that sensor affecting mileage if it is not changing the timing correcctly. There are other things the ecu uses to control the timing, I would just try and figure out how the knock sensor sends a signal to the ecu, and try and mimick it, if you don't want to get the code.
