Killer Toy Tops is back, and I gots me one.

So I ordered my top about a month and a half ago and received it yesterday. Complete kit in basic black. Install took me about 2 hours (instructions were clear in hindsight) but I didn't run into any major roadblocks that weren't caused by my own stupidity. Only true complaint I have so far is that a buckle snapped when I tightened it for the first time. Told this to Kirk (the new builder) and he is sending me a new one by mail in the morning. Overall I'm pretty satisfied and I have already gotten a few compliments within the <24 hours I've had it.

More pics when in the 'morrow.

~1 Year Update:

I've only been able to use the soft top seasonally because the winters are a little too harsh here in NJ. So I swapped back on the hard top some time mid-October and put it into storage. Unfortunately Sandy came by and flooded out the shed where I was storing the top for the winter and completely coated it in silt from the salt water bay. I was able to retrieve it a few weeks later and was surprised to find that there was no rust or corrosion on any of the metal components. I took the whole thing to a car wash and pressure washed the fabric and frame. Unfortunately the silt and detergent from the washing had removed the water proofing on the fabric and it was a pain to get it back to spec. When I re-installed the soft top at the beginning of the season one of the rods the go from the cab to the roll bar had twisted some time over the winter and was a b!tch to fit back into place. But overall I am extremely happy with the top and would definitely recommend again.

Minor gripes about the design after a year:
-With the sides off the middle straps are completely unnecessary. I have had no issue the wind even at highway speeds in that part of the roof.
-The edges of the roof between the cab and the first strap need to be reinforced. If there is any amount of cross breeze this section will vibrate violently.
-With the sides on the edges around the rear window will fall inward area making the window impossible to close from the driver's seat.

I paid $975 for the complete top, but I somehow convinced my boss to make it a corporate expense.

As cool as they are I could never justify spending that much.

im very happy with my wabfab bikini top but this looks real nice. i like how it covers a little farther back and i feel like the side rails would protect the bed rails or whatever pretty good. plus you have the option for sides and a back.

I see you have a bar down the center. Is that standard now? I bought one of the first tops made and I suggested adding a support bar down the center to prevent puddles, but he insisted the straps would do it, but the buckles will break with too much tension. Enjoy your top and your new hate for cats.

I see my 4runner is still on the site.

Got mine installed on my 88 and its nice. Much nicer than the CanBack I used to own.

It has center bars front and rear standard.

Very well made.

I catch a cat on mine I got a bullet for each of his 9 lives plus 6.

I don't mean to hijack , but I just bobbed my runner and unless I have the top custom cut it is no good to me now . If you are interested pm me. It is all black with tinted smoke side windows and it has the rear window option . I pd 1150 . Top is in excellent condition. These tops are the best .
