Question How do you test the knock sensor?

1995 SR5 4Runner 185k miles... I'm redoing the top end, and have read that it's good to replace the knock sensor wire. OK, that's fine...only $13 or so. Is it really worth while to change the knock sensor too at $150? That's just crazy! Is there a way to test it? How long do these things normally last? Thanks, Brian

According to my manual there should be infinite resistance between the sensor terminal and housing, if not it should be replaced.

Yeup... two of them, within a month of one-another.

Big babble over here: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f2/cel-code-p0330-saga-56080/

In that reading, note how I ended up dealing with the 2nd sensor...

I wired them together.

Not really recommended, but I've been running like that for a LONG time, and it's "fine".
