Help with rear diff (ring and pinion)

So I am rebuilding my rear on my 1991 Toyota pickup 4wd v6. The ring and pinion got delivered today and it is slightly the wrong ratio . The ones I took out were 4.1 and the new ring and pinion ratio is 4.3. Can anyone tell me if I could just use the 4.3 and if so what would be the difference or effects of doing so. I also put 31" tires on when I rebuilt the truck not sure if that matters or not. Any feed back would be great thanks!

how did you determine it was the wrong ratio? Count the ring gear teeth and divide by the pinion teeth?

Punchy is correct...the f/r ratios need to be the same or you will bind like a .....

Gears absolutely have to match front to rear otherwise you will destroy your transfer case.

I wouldn't say all that. It will bind up but it's only 4.10 and 4.30's. Long term, get matching gear ratios.
I've ran different gear ratios and/or different tire sizes front to back, binds like crazy buts never broke anything. This was using 4wd only when it was absolutely needed until proper gears and/or tire sizes could be matched.
