Help Needed Urgently - Clutch release bearing

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Urgent,

Repacing motor and got to replacing clutch release bearing>

Ordered clutch kit from Napa (checked and it is the right box) but
the clutch release bearing is a different size.

The old one is 1/4 inch shorter then the new one. The diameter is the same and it does fit on the spindle.

22re - Manual Tranny
95 4Runner
Napa NK651-1 clutch kit

Is this ok? Perhaps the part is re-engineered to take up extra space?

Help thanks

I would not use it. Find one that matches the one you took out. It's too long of a job to put it back together guessing it will be ok.

Well I am surprised that no one had gone through this before so I will post the solution just in case anyone does a search on this later.

NAPA Dealer ordered a new clutch kit, it came with the same clutch release ebaring so we knew it wasn't a packaging issue. They had the warehouse drop off a 2WD Clutch kit.

In that kit was the exact bearing that I had originally in the vehicle, so then it was a question of someone installing the incorrect ebaring previously.

Took original bearing, the 2wd replacement as well as the 4wd replacement over to Toyota. They looked in the FSM and the 2wdl AND 4wd are the same part on thier system.

The concensus was to use the same as what was in the vehicle, so I have stayed with the 2wd bearing.

I will drop in the motor tonight and hopefully give a positive update by the end of the week.
