Head Gasket Info - FIPG

I am just beginning to put the heads back on my 92 4runner (3vze) and I was using the FSM on here for a 93 runner and it says to put a dab of FIPG in the front corners before placing the head gaskets on. I didn't see anything about this in my chiltons manual or any where else on the site. Just wondering what I should do. Thanks in advance.

I hope you mean the valve cover gaskets, the FSM calls them head cover gaskets.

If so, then yes it's a very good idea. You might also want to smear some on the backside of the gasket before you shove it into the cover and install it.

These gaskets are notoriously leaky. Good Luck, I have constant trouble from mine.
