Are head to block guide dowel pins sold? I have been searching EVERYWHERE for even the right name for these things. LOL (small bushing like part that hammers into block and helps align head gasket and head.) I only found one thread that even mentioned these, search: New head - somethings not right.

Anyways, (why did my font go bold?) my machinist suggested that i take mine out to clean the block with a sharpening stone. He said they are dime a dozen, easy to find. Anyone know where to buy these? i called a dealership and they were like "wuuuu?.........you mean headgasket?" "Oh, those are 4 bucks each, i can get them in here next week."



I want them now, I want my truck done this weekend.

*Edit: called NAPA and they wre like "huuuuh? head gasket?" wow, even NAPA

 

Not sure if you can get them thru a local parts store, but the Toyota part # you are looking for should be 90253-16001 (OEM Toyota PIN, RING) at approx 3 buck ea.
