Hi. I was putting new valve cover gaskets in today in the 3vze, and thought I had read something on here about using some sealant in the corners. But, neither my Haynes manual nor my online FSM says anything about this. They just say to replace the gasket, nothing about sealant. What is the proper way? Thanks.

See pdf page 32 (FSM page EG2-80), they refer to it as "seal packing," I use black RTV.

 

Ah, now that you said that I checked my FSM and saw that I had scrolled past that part. Thanks for pointing that out, I appreciate it.
