Exterior Chrome Molding

Exterior Chrome Molding
Does anyone have any great ideas around replacing the chrome exterior molding on the sides and fenders of the '86 4Runner?
I am going to replace the chrome molding around the windshield with just a black rubber gasket (I have seen others on the forums do this) but currently have zero ideas on how to get rid of the other exterior chrome molding. Has anyone done anything with this? Trying to remove all chrome on the rig. Does it look fine if just removed with nothing to replace it? Ideally, I would find black thin trim to go around the fenders. I am having rock sliders welded on so think the side chrome trim can just be removed with nothing in its place.
Just curious on the forum's thoughts. Thanks!

Consider these options :
1. Black trim replacement: Search for thin, black trim specifically designed for automotive use. This will provide a sleek, chrome-free look..
2. Removal without replacement: If you're having rock sliders welded on, removing the side chrome trim might be sufficient. However, consider applying a rust-inhibiting coating to the exposed metal..
3. Paint or wrap: Paint or wrap the area where the chrome molding was removed to match the vehicle's color scheme..
4. Custom solutions: Explore online forums, 4Runner communities, or local auto trim shops for custom solutions or inspiration..

You could paint the wheel opening moldings, but if they're in decent shape you could make a fair amount selling on eBay.
I don't think you'll find any decent trim to go around the wheel opening. That bulk-strip stuff with the adhesive backing won't survive long.
The rocker moldings you could just rattle can with epoxy paint.
