Evap/charcoal canister alternatives

I've searched the forums and found a lot of good info, however my specific question is if I need to replace the charcoal canister, what are my options?

Replacement for one on an 89 4Runner 22RE costs something like $250-300 at autozone. Are there less expensive alternatives?

Story: Just bought the truck and doing some things to it. Still needs the coolant flush and the exhaust repaired. One of the issues I was putting off was the extra pressure build up in the fuel tank, lots of air when removing the cap. I changed the gas cap and plan to get another after reading of a bad experience with the Autozone cap. The charcoal canister was leaking fuel from the air tube on the bottom, so I assume they are related. I pulled the canister and blew air into it and found it to be blocked, which is why I believe it needs to be replaced.

Any help, advice, suggestions, something I missed; letting me know will be greatly appreciated.
