Coolant issues

I have an 87 yota with the 22R and I am new with yota's. My coolant resevoir keeps going dry and before you think I am an idiot ill tell you that the resevoir does not have a leak, the radiator is not leaking and my oil level shows no sign of coolant. The truck runs amazing, I have no issues other than the coolant dissapearing. Please help...

How fast are you losing coolant? Is your radiator cap in good condition?

Coolant pressure test. Pull the air hose off the throttle body and look for seepage from the IAC/AAV (idle air control/auxiliary air valve - the cold idle up valve). If you don't see the leak, try a leakdown test.

I suppose that's another question: is it a 22R or 22RE?

22R = carbureted
22RE = fuel injected

If carbed, while you're searching for leaks check under the intake manifold. A coolant hose runs under it.

It is a 22R (carb). I think the guy that sold it to me knew that it had issues because while goin threw some basic maintence I noticed that the coolant cap had no pic-up line into the resevoir. I thought that was kind of fishy. but I will try that pressure test that you had mentioned and the other places to check under the manifold and let you know what is up...

Thanks for the help
