What do you guys think of going from 15" wheels to 16". My truck is in need of tires and I've found a good deal on a set of wheels and tires. Only thing is, they're 16" and the ones on my truck are 15. Same bolt pattern, I think they came off of a Tacoma. Anything to be aware of or concerned about?

 

I think your good to go, id keep your old set around tho, one set for on road and the other for off.

 

You shouldn't have any issues. 16" wheels open up some interesting tire sizes- 235/85r16 (32x9.5), 255/85r16 (true 33x10.5).

 

In general, going +1 on wheel size should mean -1 in tire size...
... so if you're going from a 15 with a 225/75r15 tire, going to a 16 with a 225/65r16 tire is about the same overall size (notice the change from 225/75 to 225/65). The 225/65r16 will appear a little wider but overall, the tire height should be comparable.
Likewise, going from 225/75r15 tire to a 215/75r16 tire should amount to approximately the same overall circumference (but would be a slightly skinnier tire).

 

the 255/85R16 is a nice tire size, watch the backspacing on the Taco wheels though, you might need spacers in the front to clear the upper ball joint
