93 toyota not running right, HELP

I have a 93 toyota pickup a/t. I was driving to work this morning and my check engine light came on about 10 miles from home. When the light came on the motor started cutting out and I had no acceleration. After I pulled over for a minute or so the light went off. I went ahead and drove to work and it was cutting out the whole time I was driving but the check engine light was off at that point. When I was going up any sort of hill it wouldn't shift either. I'm not much of a mechanic so I was looking for some advice. Thanks

First thing i would do is check to see what codes it is throwing and then get the connections, spark plug wires etc.

Yes, it will have stored the code. Pull the code, and let us know what it is, then we can go from there.
