93 4runner, cranks no start
thought id post in here since no answer in newbie section. So far its getting spark, the fuses and COR check out. Just disconnected the fuel filter and cranked it over to see if it pumped fuel through the lines and nothing spit out. That a sure sign its the pump? oh ya forgot to add my friend said its been sputtering a few days before.

Search fuel pump or fuel pump relay on here - there's a trick to bypassing the relay to diagnose pump problems by jumpering two nodes inside the diagnostic connections. Don't recall the exact procedure or terminals, I remember just reading it here or on 4x4wire.com - also check this link: http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/CheapTri...shtml#FuelPump

I am putting a fuel pump in my '95 right now (well, when I get a chance to work on it again). See my thread here: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...-start-194037/
Long story short, I decided it MUST be the fuel pump because twice I got it to start (or spit gas, in your case) by hammering on the fuel tank, so maybe try that? However, I keep asking for confirmation that this is a good diagnostic and no one answers. . .
Good luck, dropping the tank doesn't look as bad as some people let on, provided things aren't too rusty under there.

Sadly you didn't have to drop the tank....you just wasted a whole day.... there is an access panel under the right rear back seat... Plug is melted? You mean the connector outside the fuel pump? Well that may be part of your problem... check the pump to the battery hard wired see if it still works.... if so then your going to have to get that connector repaired or hard wire it....

This site http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_U_198...EA_2211.5.html shows that you can get the whole bracket assembly from Toyota but it doesn't look like you can get just a connector. I checked for an '89 since that is what I have. From the home page you can put in your VIN and find the part numbers for anything on the truck.
