Unhappy '91 4Runner starts fine but dies when warm

hey. Have a '91 4Runner [3VZ-E] that has a low idle when warm. Im able to drive arund maybe 5-10 min before the engine feels boggy. If I stop at a light, my car dies so i have to feed a bit of gas for it to stay alive. CEL comes on with Code 43 (OBD 1: no starter signal to ecu) which the only symptoms being the battery not keeping charge but no problem starting the car. Cleaned the throttle body and took a look at the EGR valve but it looks ok. Im thinking it might be a bad o2 sensor that is making the 4Runner run at a baseline fuel trim but dont want to spend money i dont have to. Any tips on diagnosing the true problem(s) without breaking the bank at a machanic shop? Thanks (:

You should be able to test the o2 sensor with a multimeter
