Hey Everyone, First off, Iv searched the forum and browsed countless Google sources and cannot find any solution to this...but...here goes...
My truck (1989, 22R Pickup, 92,000 miles, 4spd) ran great until i changed oil and filter. Then about a week later it started idling horribly rough.

Symptoms:
Rough "thumping" idle
normal driving is fine
some black smoke when idling

I unplugged the Fuel Cut Solenoid/Choke/OVCV and it runs great, until i gave it alot of gas and it dies
I tried plugging it with a small bolt but just got horrible mileage and the problem wasnt much beter...
Whats goin on?


What ive done so far:
Replaced spark plugs
Replaced spark plug wires
REplaced distributor cap
Replaced fuel filter
replaced fuel pump
I checked AAP diaphragm...its good.
Checked click in the Fuel cut solenoid....good
checked timing...timing on #1,#4 is a lil over 8. while plugged in to the distributor vaccum advancer.
sprayed cleaner all over and theres no change at all.

normal driving is fine
but idle is bad ...so
so I cant find any Vac leaks.
I did notice that theres some gas leaking from the back of the carb ...its under the choke so it may be the gasket...
I bought a carb kit but I have a time crunch and its my daily so i need to have it fixed within a 2 day period.

Any suggestions as to what it could be ?

Really need some help since I have no other vehicle
