Hello all. Ive lurked for years finally joined.

So my buddy just pretty much gave me the parts runner i found for him.

He's go an 85runner thats pretty built (just needed a cage and the parts truck wouldn't have been needed) he rolled it at my bachlor party about a year ago.

Plan was find a parts truck with a str8 body swap the 2 shells and depending what the parts truck had/needed take or add and end up with a wheeler for me (po broke guy still paying off the wedding) and a nice shell on his runner to put a cage over.

long story short add was for an 89 runner parked sence 2006 i think $500. i called they said the starter was acting up then one day it just didn't start and they never bothered. best part they non opped right away. so we get this thing towed from pleasonton to santa rosa tow driver drops it and hits it with his jumper box and it fires right up and drives. we havn't played with it too much as we were pulling the engine in his rice rocket. bought a new bat the other day he's gunna put it in when he gets off work.

i guess at some point it was rear ended pretty good it bent the tow hitch down, and i guess it was stolen over night (joyriding i guess) the left it at the tire shop overnight and cops had it in the am. you can pull the key out with the engine running.

ill get more pics and i know im gunna be asken all kindsa questions.

current plan is change every thing. all the fluids, belts, filters, plugs basic tune up and see how she sounds then come back and ask you guys what to do.

 

What's the deal with that first gen beside it?

 

it's my buddys brothers. he bought the truck it needed a rebuild, he pulled the engine started to tear down then moved finished the teardown of engine at secound house and now has 2 garages with 1/2 of an engine then his tranny got stolen.


translation it's goin nowhere and the front axle is goin under the 5runner eventually. im tryen to convince my buddy that sence he smashed his body we should chop the cab off that and make a real first gen runner


kinda looks like a used car lot and the sad part is theres 2 cars you cant see 2 yota beds and a cab back there somewhere and his runner is at a buddys shop
