I totalled my 86 4runner on monday, just rebuilt the engine last month so i want to still use what i have. I found a nice 89 with a bad v6, will the 22re bolt right in or will i have to do some modifications? I know i will basically have to swap harnesses, computer and ect, i just need to know if it will all bolt up thanks

The engine , trans, and t-case out of the 86 wont bolt up to the 89 frame even though its the same body style? Are the motor mount pearches different?

 

Everything is different. WAY more work than it's worth. Just find another V6, it's a much better engine anyway, IMO.
