hey i have a 93 pickup with the 3 slo. just got an engine swap done and ive noticed that the truck ticks very loudly. when i look into the engine bay, truck makes the ticking that i know it does. but when i get under the truck i hear another tick that is way louder. could it be a leaking exhaust? its a different tick than what the engine is making

 

is it louder with more throttle and especially under a load? if so, then I would say yes exhaust leak...

 

Get a piece of hose (doesn't matter what kind), put one end to your ear and hold the other to the exhaust system. Move it along the exhaust around where its making the ticking, and you'll be able to pinpoint the leak. It will sound like a helicopter flying up the tube, its very distinct.

 

yeah it gets louder with more throttle. matt ill try out that hose method. thanks for the help

 

An audio clip might work wonders in this situation.
