so I once did a 20R head conversion onto a 22R, along with several other mods, and it worked well. That truck is long gone and now I have an 87' 4x4. I just read that you can bore a 20R and use 22R pistons? would this give me the same effect as what I did before. is the deck height the same on 20R as early 22R? Also, used an LCE header before. is this the preferred? or tri-y?

20r head will not go onto an 87 22r not without significant rework by a machine shop who knows what they are doing. BIG PITA. Only seen this attempted once. It's actually on here, but unfinished I believe.

right, I wasn't going to put the head on this block. my old truck was an 84'. the thing is I found a complete 20R with a header for $300. thought maybe boring out to 22R piston size would give the same power increase.
