Question 1993 22RE 2wd exhaust clamp question

Hi guys, been a while, Im rebuilding a clean little 1993 2wd single cab that I bought a while back, Im replacing the entire exhaust except the cat and manifold, the Bosal downpipe has this clamp on it, I cant see where Im supposed to bolt it to and the old pipe didnt have it, any ideas?

The truck is neat, its a 93 with 145,000 miles with factory AC, cloth seat and carpet.... , I've got everything I need to install power steering on it and tracked down a set of factory 5 lug alloy wheels! I've so far given it a total tune up, cooling system once over with a new dual stage thermostat, belts, temp sensor, 02 sensor, exhaust parts are all ready to install, Ive replaced the clutch and shifter bushings and the front brakes with new bearings and seals. Im going to get it repainted and eventually give it to my mom to use to run around in when she needs a little pickup!

Anyway, Ive attached the stock picture from Rock Auto with an arrow, the clamp in question just doesnt seem to touch anything unless Im missing a bracket. Thanks again! Matt

Might attach to a bracket on the block. Sometimes they put a mounting bracket like that in place if it fits one of the applications.

If your worried about it you could always tack an exhaust hanger up near the bracket if your worried.

Thanks guys! I tracked one down and all is good, I installed an entire new exhaust and have a feeling how mine was cracked at the Y may have had something to do with it missing this clamp to keep it tight!
