1990 6cyl Exhaust Manifold Take Down

First off Merry Christmas!

Second just about ready to tackle installing new manifolds on both RH/LH side. Looking through the alldatadiy process they inform you to tackle similar to a cylinder head removal/install approach (-) attacking the cylinder heads.

Going through some additional research found one could attack through the wheel wells breaking down some of the suspension, brakes, etc.

Any thoughts from those that have done the job on best, most efficient approach?

Thanks

Go from the top, pull some bottom manifold studs if you need to. The breaks arent in your way, the wheel well is.

Thanks

Appreciate the reply and looking a little further would agree, just have some additional front end work, shocks, rotors, etc. so thought stay in same location and get at it that way.

Going through additional forum posts and general diagrams, top down makes the most sense.

Remove the heads with manifolds on. Do a complete head job while you're at it.

I wouldn't do a full head job just cause I'm doing manifolds. I follow the, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" mindset. When I was in high school, I pulled mine to do my headers with no problem. It's not terribly difficult, just time consuming. Just take your time, and get some new nuts. The dealership keeps them in stock, as well as new studs in case you break or strip one.
