Ive spent a ton of time researching this on the internet nothing has been helpful to me , i just got a 1984 pickup and it runs like crap , dies when you coast with clutch in surges forward when going slower with little pedal movement then gets worse with the bounce and movment with the pedal .
So i think it might be a vacum leak or somthing i dont know , like i said i just got the truck , dont know what carb i have whats wrong or what tubes go to what , i want to replace with a new carb but i need to know what im looking at or it would be pointless , ( tried searching on here i get same results every time just a standard list that always comes up) im pretty frustrated i just want to learn how to work on it but cant find much
Looks like you have the factory Aisin carb. The 500 vacuum lines may not be connected correctly or some of the pivot points have wallowed out causing air leaks. If your emissions will allow it I would look into a Weber carb replacement.
