thinking about buying old yota - one small question...

My friend is thinking about buying a 1985 Toyota 4x4.

The only question I have is, right now you have to manually prime the carb with a little fuel to get it to start.

What needs to be fixed?

Whats the worst case scenario?? (i.e. needs new carb, has electrical problem, etc.)

probably needs a carb rebuild and if you're not sure what else to look for definitely check the frame around the spring hangers and the rest of it for rust rot

My truck had the same problem when i got it, i rebuilt the carb and that didn`t help, i then replaced the fuel pump and filter and that didn`t help either, it ended up being the fuel lines conected to the fuel pump, they were hooked up backwards. so you might look at that.
