Rumble while decelerating?

I apologize if this has been answered before, I did search but didn't find anything quite like this.

On my 85 Pickup, there's a rumbling noise when I stop. Sounds akin to a big sound system in the car next to me. It happens in gear or in neutral. I don't think it's a warped brake disc because it happens in the last few mph of coming to a stop.

Previously the pinion gear in the rear end shredded itself, so in fixing that I replaced the gears in front and rear, added an Aussie locker, and did a knuckle rebuild. The noise was there both before and after all this.

Any ideas?

Drive shaft, u joints could be going. But I'd put my money on a bad bearing in your rear end or somewhere the drive shaft connects

If it was exessive runout in your rotors you would feel a left to right wobble in your steering wheel. If you have the means to get all 4 off the ground then spin your wheels and listen. A scope will help you narrow it down to where the sound is coming from.

Thanks for the ideas, guys. I'll put it up in the air and see if I can find anything out. It has all new bearings in the rear end except wheel bearings. And I'm starting to wonder if it's just the agressive 33" tires. They've been on there since I got the truck.

when the tires are off the ground if you can feel play in the wheel its probably wheel bearings, or i you can hear it.
i mean play as in towards the frame and out towards you( does that make sense?)
