Rough Country 3" Lift
Has anyone ran this or heard anything about the rough country 3" suspension lift with rear springs? I just picked up my 4Runner two weeks ago and don't want to spend too much on a lift until I get more into it. I am planning on running 33's on 15x10's with this lift, and possible a 1" body lift.

rough country, skyjacker, downey and all other companies like these that produce and sell these kinds of kits will give lift but you will still have your stock travel. good for a 'lift'. i have downey 3" lift springs on my pickup and they work fine. smoother than my stock springs(because they were rusted and shot to poo poo). but i still lack in travel. which is why once im out of school i will be purchasing a marlin trail flex kit. which means my downey springs and shocks will be up for sale, if you interested and can wait a few months
. 33's will fit but you might want to think of regearing your diffs. for a body lift go to roger brown: www.4crawleroffroad.com. i think thats his website. his stuff is good. and good prices too i think.

I installed the Rough Country 3" lift kit with all new springs on my 84. The ride is not bad at all. One of the things I did notice is there are no bushings for the shackles at the frame. If I am removing the shackles, I might as well put in new bushings. The bushings used for the shocks at the front axle did not fit very well. I would also suggest new, longer brake lines. The install took me a day to do. Make sure you have stands high enough for the frame to accommodate the arch of the springs. You will NOT need a new drag link. The stock one works just fine. Also, make sure you have PB Blaster.
