I got one of those rare 1985 Turbo d=Diesel Pick-ups.
My injector pump is leaking and i need to find parts.
Does anyone know a good source to get parts, especially for the injector pump?

 

Does anyone know any common things that might be going wrong with it.
I read on another forum it might be the injector seal on the top plate.
Anyone got any experience with these?

 

typically , it's the "pig skin" diaphragm that fails on these injector pumps . Toyota changed up the materials way back when to correct the problem ..

I believe you can still order just the diaphragm still from toyota

I called a dealership and they didn't have much advice on where to look. Told me I need to find a Toyota enthusiast. Are there any major suppliers? Maybe Toyota101...?
How long can a vehicle drive with one of these leaks... I'd like to get it home over 500 miles away of strait driving.

 

I can see the leak is coming from a place under some Alan Wrench Screws just under the throttle... Is this where the diaphragm seal is?

I know nothing about your pump and truck but we have an 83 with an L diesel and turbo injection services told me it was a bosch design and they could rebuild it. The bosch design was used on lots of vehicles. I would make friends with an old established shop that rebuiilds pump and such. Someone there has seen them. Where are you located?
