Is it just the head gasket or more expensive???

New to the site, but wonder if anyone can help. Just over heated my 85 toyota cuz my temp guage doesnt work and ive been fiddling with a few problems lately on it. seems to be shooting coolant out over the #4 piston at the gasket. seems to be running on 3 cylinders cuz its sputters n wont run well under load. does fine in neutral so im assuming ive toasted the gasket near the rear of the engine. anything i should look for as I take it apart to tell me whether i need a new block or head or if I can jsut change the gasket?? timing was off cuz i jsut finished doing the timing chain and was playing around with the distributor.

if it is the 4 banger then that is a tough little engine so you should be fine. You can have the head checked to make sure it did not warp.
