Insurance Suggestions for Daily Driven Restored 1st Gens

Hey all,

What does everyone use for insurance? I currently have a normal policy but I am sure that Geico would not value my restored 1st gen anywhere near what it has cost to build / restore so am always wary of what my comprehensive / collision coverage would really cover.

I have looked at classic car insurance providers like Haggerty but because I do daily the rig, use it for overlanding / camping / offroading, and do not store inside a temp-controlled garage, I am ineligible for all types of classic card insurance.

Does anyone know of any agreed-upon value insurance that can be used to insure the actual value of these rigs that doesnt come with all the limitations of classic car insurance?

Thanks!
Franklin

Glad you brought this up. I'm looking also for both of mine. Have a 4x4 long bed x-cab and a 2wd x-cab standard bed. Have a ton of work in the 4x probably 15-16k worth

Some classic car insurance companies offer "agreed upon" vehicle valves and if the worst happens, will pay the entire value amount. I have no personal experience with them but Hagerty has always been a well recommended company for this. https://www.hagerty.com/
They've been in business since 1984 and I've never heard a bad word about them.

Just a personal referral on my part, not an endorsement. I do not work for the company nor do I get paid for referrals.

If you daily it and wheel it you’re going to have a hard time insuring it with any classic insurance. I get we all want to cruise around the coolest Toyota’s ever but that’s all they are to the normal person and insurance company is an old Toyota. You can’t have the best of both worlds here unfortunately it’s the chance we take. My 91 is far from as cool as a first gen runner but if I added up all my receipts I would probably throw up, so I don’t

If you do find someone willing to insure the full value and keep the ability to daily, wheel, overland and store outside please report back
