Idler arm.

Hi folks,
I have a 1985 4wd long bed truck. I want to replace the Idler arm bushings but cannot find it. All I can find is a push rod coming from the steering unit arm connecting to the wheels with some play. Can anyone direct me in the right direction. Is there a difference in 4wd, 4runner and 2wd. From what I can see I do not have an idler arm.
Thanks,
Gordon

Straight axles came on 4x4s until 1986. They do not have an idler arm. Later independent suspension 4x4s and all 4x2s had idler arms. If the rod coming from the steering box has play in it, then that is why your steering is loose (which is the reason you were probably looking for an idler arm ).

What is your reason for wanting to replace idler arm bushings, regardless if your truck doesnt have one, but is it because of slack in the steering? More info= more helpful answers.
