I have 2 charcoal canisters?!

I was reading NavyRednecks build:

I came across the vacuum diagram in his post (Page 3, 3/4 of the way down) and I noticed the difference in Canada/US canisters.
During my tear down I saw that I have two canisters!
One is bolted to the firewall, like on my 1989 pickup. The other one is bolted to the pass. side inner fender, under the battery. What's up with that? I'll be removing both as I plan on installing a 22RE (canister will come from donor vehicle).

US Carbed trucks have two, EFI trucks will have only one. The second cannister on carbed trucks catches fuel evaporating off the fuel bowl, not needed with EFI. Both then have evaporative cannisters for the fuel tank. Not sure what the layout is for Canadian trucks.
