Hose under thermostat housing

84 22r, under the thermostat housing there is about a 1" hose that runs to the back of the engine. What is it and can it go? Is there coolant in it?

Probably the hose that goes from a diverter valve to the pulse air unit under the intake. No coolant. that is assuming 1"ID.

If 1" OD, it would go from the bottom rear of the intake to the back side of the timing cover.
