ecu or...

ok so my check engine light comes on when i hit third and my truck loses power... i checked the code and its 11 ecu right..? well i got a used one from a buddy on here and it does the same thing so im thinking not the ecu eh? what are the chances it would have exactly the same problem as before? what else could it be?

Im not sure what the problem could be (sorry) but I would say its NOT the ecu at all, if both of them do the same thing. That would be WAY to crazy! My guess would be a sensor of some sort or somthing to do with fuel...maybe a fuel pump going bad and cant keep up?.....

code 11 is switch signal- either air conditioning, throttle position sensor or ECU.
I'd lean towards the TPS or wiring to the TPS.

These might be helpful:







The TPS might be bad (contaminated by carb cleaner) or misadjusted. You may need to adjust the throttle stop screw too. My A/C VSV was disconnected so I would get code 11. If you have A/C check vsv on top of valve cover.
