22R is the engine, says it right on it. Get photos up for us if you can! 83's go from $500 anywhere up to $3000+.
Toyotas are great, but they are for Toyota lovers. If you want the power, size, sound and feel of a Chevy or something, you're not going to like a Toyota. But Toyotas are waaay better engineered than almost anything else out there, even these early ones. It is old, and if it doesn't have power steering it's a bit of a beast, and I don't care if it's got a bunch of new parts. If it hasn't been totally rebuilt, you're going to have issues. It's an old truck. But compared to another kind of vehicle that old, it will be great. If you're used to old trucks I don't need to tell you any of this.
I have an '83. Took a lot of work, but it's a ton of fun and is now a reliable daily driver and even road trip vehicle. If you're new to Toyotas, look around this site, look around marlincrawler.com, get an idea of Toyotas. They aren't a domestic full size truck, that's for sure, but if you like them, you love them.
