front inner axle seal??

I couldnt find any info on this... could be a dumb ?. I have been upgrading the brakes on my 79 pickup and ive got the new rotors on the hub and was going to put them back on the spindle when i noticed the circular spring on the inner axle seal is a little bent and is more of a tear drop shape. what exactly does that spring do and do i need to buy a new inner axle seal since i cant find it sold seperatly seperatly?

if this is what you are talking about its a great Idea to replace them while you have the axle apart anyways.

Actually i think what i was meaning to say was the oil seal and race on the inside of the hub assembly... this is the first time for me getting into the hub so its all new to me. i guess i should just buy new seals races and bearings while im in there?

oh I know what your talking about, I dont believe they sell that seal individual, you might be able to get it from Napa or the dealer will have one. If it was me I would buy the whole axle rebuild kit from marlin.
