anyone have Carb Rebuild experience?

I'm looking at starting to piece the lower part of my '78 20r (aisan) carb back together after cleaning and I noticed that the gasket holes don't line up with a small hole on throttle chamber. It's a hole that correlates to the triangular well on the underside of the carburetor body, which runs through to the air horn. (don't know where it goes from there)

Should I punch a hole there to make sure it's unobstructed or is this something that should be left as is?

Pictures? You might have a replacement carb from a different R engine. They are all very similar but not all the same.

resolved the issue today. my carb is put together a little differently than what the service manual pictures indicate. it must be a '79 carb or something, I noticed that the manual also indicated 2 choke diaphragm assemblies, mine only has 1 but that's the only major difference.

gaskets lined up ok once I realized that and got them oriented correctly.

which carb do I have?

is their a page here to identify which variant carb I've got on my 20r? I'm buying a 77 longbed that likely needs a carb rebuild.

I have my carb rebuilt and my truck still had issues running and idling. Switch to a Weber and it has been great. Not sure if that is an option, but I would definitely recommend a Weber.
