1978 Toyota pickup radiator 2022

Hello. Scouring the internet I can’t find a new radiator for my 1978 pickup 20r manual stock. I’ve heard this radiator will fit without modification??? So I’m assuming mounting brackets inlet snd outlet pipes fan shroud snd fan etc all work correctly??? Who can assure me it all works?

big investment I’d like to know it’s going to work

I have run this radiator and I do not recommend. It is a CSF 2314 radiator (comes in a CSF 2314 box), but LC has shifted the brackets by 3/8". This puts the radiator right up against the support; not sure it gets proper airflow like that. It also opens up a gap between the stock shroud and the core. Really doesn't seem ideal. If the LC version fits the CSF 2314 should fit. I would try that first. I've had nothing but problems with LC's radiator. I have no idea whether the 2314 fits a '78. I do know it isn't listed for my '85, and it does fit that.

Thx for chiming in. It’s literally the only radiator I can find right now. I could recore this old one but shop can’t do it till after the 4th of July. Trying to speed up the process to do a long distance trip.

can you recommend one and post link to it which is available to buy now?

I’ve had no luck.

Summit has them in stock, they're usually pretty speedy.

To verify fit I would get in touch with CSF directly before you purchase.

Excellent thx for those links. I’ll see what csf has to say. When I contacted summit earlier, they said nothing was available for my truck year. Not sure the 2314 will work.

I’ll ask csf tmrw

if u know of any other possibilities or links feel free to post em

Yeah I definitely don't have any ideas on fit for a '78, but I do know the 2314 fits a number of years in the 80's that aren't listed. If the 2314 doesn't fit I doubt LC's modified version will, although it does give the fan a little more clearance. Mounting hole spacing on the 2314 is about 22.5" horizontally and 7.75" vertically if that helps. Spacing for the holes mounting the shroud are similar
